Mass Changes – Information Sessions
Changes will go into effect the first
Sunday of Advent, November 27th.
Our parish is providing a brief session so that you
can find out what the responses will be and understand
the reasons for the changes.
Place: Immaculate Conception Parish Center or School Cafeteria
Dates and Times: Six opportunities to attend a session.
Just pick a day and time that is convenient! Each session
presents the same material.
What can I do?
- Please choose a date that you and your family can attend. We would like every parishioner to be well prepared for the Mass changes this Advent.
- Learn about the changes by taking advantage of these resources [link to be provided soon]…and most importantly, share what you learn with your family and friends. The Divine Liturgy is a precious gift, one that we should be eager to share!
- Take some time to pray about your understanding of the Divine Liturgy. How will these changes better enable you to enter more deeply into the sacred liturgy we call the Mass? How actively do you participate in the Mass? How is Jesus calling you to experience His divine presence in Word and Sacrament and to respond with greater holiness, authenticity, reverence, and worship?
- The book of Revelation teaches us that God’s divine plan is literally empowered and executed on earth and in heaven through the Heavenly Liturgy, which we enter into during every Mass. (Father Joe really means it when he invites us to “sing with the choirs of angels”!) To attend Mass, then, is to enter into the great spiritual struggle between all that is good and holy…and that which is not. The words of the Mass are quite literally our battle cry and our weapon, and they are about to grow stronger and sharper! Are you ready? Have you strengthened your own spiritual armor lately by attending the Sacrament of Reconciliation? One of the best ways to prepare for the upcoming changes in the Mass is to become a saint through regular encounters with the Mercy of Jesus in the Sacrament of Reconciliation!
Brought to you by the Parish Adult Education Committee.
