Welcome to the Immaculate Conception Parish
Pastoral Ministry Programs

The Church reaches out to provide spiritual care of the frail, ill and dying through the sacraments, home visits, prayer and supportive presence. Please contact Deacon Mike Truman if you or a family member are unable to attend church due to illness so that we may arrange visits to you.

Sacraments available to persons unable to attend church due to illness:

Institutions that we visit:
Union Hospital, Laurelwood, Calvert Manor, Sunbridge, numerous assisted living residences and personal care homes and senior citizen complexes in Elkton and North East, Maryland.

Lazarus Ministry
Volunteers are needed set up and clean up the church at the time of a funeral. Ministers of Hospitality greet guests to our church and serve as ushers during a funeral. Our parishioners bake cakes and make desserts for funeral luncheons when needed. Sympathy cards are sent on behalf of the parishioners and staff.

Telephone Reassurance
Phone calls are made to the homebound and their caregivers on a regular basis to provide encouragement and support in stressful times and to keep the homebound connected with the life of the parish.

Transportation
On occasion parishioners need a ride to church or a parish event.

Parish Nurses
Our parish nurses and medical personnel take blood pressure readings during the parish Coffee and Doughnuts once a month. Brochures for healthy living and heath isssues are distributed.

Special Celebrations
Holy Souls Mass to remember the deceased of our parish and family members. We remember in a special way those parishioners and our family members who have died this year. All are welcome to attend the Mass. Once a year we celebrate the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick within a parish Sunday liturgy. We invite all those parishioners with serious illness to receive the Sacrament of the Sick for physical, emotional or spiritual illness.
