Thank you for considering volunteering for the Immaculate Conception Parish Religious Education Program! Our programs could not happen without the time and dedication of our parents - we truly need your help in any capacity that you are able. All training and materials are provided.

You may volunteer for our program in one of two ways:

1. Fill out the online form below.
2. Print out the Religious Education Volunteer Form, fill it out, and bring it into the Parish Office or mail it to us at 455 Bow St. Extended, Elkton, MD 21921.

Pre-school Volunteer Needs

Ages 3-4-5
Sunday mornings from 10:15-11:30AM

Help with children's session one Sunday during the school year. You need to have participated once in the program.
Help with Family Reconciliation Retreat
Facilitate one station for families attending either one Saturday or one Sunday in early November
Work with Holy Eucharist program
Help with children's session one Sunday during the school year. You need to have participated once in the program.
Help with Vacation Bible School
Usually the last week in June, 6-8pm. We need help in many areas. You'll be contacted.
Parish Library Aide
Return books and videos to shelves and file cards for borrowed items		 Available: Sunday Wednesday
Bake and/or purchase an item when needed
Hall Monitor during Religious Education classes
Bring your favorite book or magazine or even your laptop!		 Available: Sunday Wednesday
Help with fundraising event


Grades 7 - 8 Volunteer Needs
I can volunteer for the following:
Catechist Grade:

Help with First Friday gatherings - first Friday of the month October - May
Help with service projects as needed - may include yard work for senior citizens, baking cookies for prisoners, etc.


Confirmation Volunteer Needs
I can volunteer for the following:
Confirmation Catechist
Eight 2-hour classes - late January through March or early April
Confirmation Assistant
 Eight 2-hour classes - late January through March or early April
Scavenger Hunt Driver
2 - 3 hours on a Sunday in early November
Substitute Catechist
on call basis


Grades 9 - 12 Volunteer Needs
I can volunteer for the following:
Catechist for High School Religion Classes
Weekly two-hour class for 15 weeks, September-December
Assistant for High School Religion Classes
Weekly two-hour class for 15 weeks, September-December
Helper for Sunday night gatherings (6-8pm)
Retreat Chaperone
MLK weekend in January - 7pm Friday through 1pm Sunday
Lock-In Chaperone
Usually near Halloween and over Christmas break, 8 PM-8 AM on a Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday
Work Camp Chaperone and Driver

Diocesan youth rally, off-site activities


Other Volunteer Needs

Christmas Bazaar
(Work at a table or be a chairperson; one weekend in mid-November)
Christian Formation Committee
 (meets once a month for 1 1/2 hours to oversee that our formation programs are meeting the needs of our children, youth, and adults)
Adult Education Committee
(meets monthly to plan adult enrichment opportunities)
Parent Group for Religious Education/Youth Ministry
(meets four times a year to give input on RE and YM programs)
